Take Exit 286B (Wilkes Community College exit) off US 421. Take Right off exit and follow festival signs for parking.

From Boone & Blowing Rock:

Drive Time: ~ 40 minutes. Take US 421 South for 31miles. Take Exit 286B (Wilkes Community College exit). Take right off exit and follow signs for festival parking.

From Lenoir:

Drive Time: ~ 45 minutes. Take NC 18 North until it intersects with NC Hwy 16. Turn left at intersection. Go approximately 12 miles and get on US 421 North towards Boone. Take Exit 286B (Wilkes Community College exit). Take left off exit and follow signs for festival parking.

From Winston-Salem:

Drive Time: ~ 1 hour. Take Hwy 421 North toward Wilkesboro. Go approximately 50 miles & take Exit 286B (Wilkes Community College exit) off US 421. Take left off exit and follow festival signs for parking.

From Charlotte:

Drive Time: ~ 2 hours. Take Interstate 77 North 72 miles, take exit 73B onto US 421 North 23 miles, take Exit 286B (Wilkes Community College exit) off US 421. Take left off exit and follow festival signs for parking.

From Atlanta:

Drive Time: ~ 5 hours. Take I-85 North 226 miles, take the US 321 North exit, exit number 17, towards Lincolnton. Drive North about 60 miles to Lenoir. Take NC 18 North until it intersects with NC Hwy 16. Turn left at intersection. Go approximately 12 miles and get on US 421 North towards Boone. Take Exit 286B (Wilkes Community College exit). Take left off exit and follow signs for festival parking.

From Asheville & Tennessee:

Go I-40 East until you get to Morganton. Take the Hwy. 64 exit.Take a Left on to 64 and follow the Hwy. 64 East truck route signs around Morganton. Highway 64 turns into 18 North. Follow 18 North through Lenoir. Take NC 18 North until it intersects with NC Hwy 16. Turn left at intersection. Go approximately 12 miles and get on US 421 North towards Boone. Take Exit 286B (Wilkes Community College exit). Take left off exit and follow signs for festival parking.

From Virginia:

Take US 77 South until it intersects with US 421. Take US 421 Take Hwy 421 North toward Wilkesboro. Go approximately 50 miles & take Exit 286B (Wilkes Community College exit) off US 421, take left off exit and follow festival signs for parking.

Demand for hotel rooms becomes very intense at festival time, so we encourage you to seek reservations as early in the year as possible. As a convenience for our MerleFest guests, we provide contact information for local Chambers of Commerce.

To advertise your accommodations, please contact your county's Chamber of Commerce and/or visit the MerleFest Forum and click on Accommodations to post your information. You must be a registered user to post information on the MerleFest Forum.

For the convenience of commuters, the Mountaineer East/West bus stop for Wilkes County is located at the Wilkes Transportation Authority (WTA) at 1010 Spring Street, Wilkesboro, NC. The bus does not serve Wilkes Community College campus. Passengers wishing to continue arriving or departing directly from Wilkes Community College can utilize the WTA Express Shuttle to continue connecting with the campus.
