Doc Watson Symposium just after he passed…images/video

    Here are some images I took and video/soundboard feed that David Holt took at the celebration of life that was done for Doc Watson at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh. Onstage they had Doc’s brother, David Watson, David Holt, Joe Wilson, T. Michael Coleman, Bryan Sutton, Wayne Henderson, Jeff Little, Barry Poss and MC’d by George Holt.

    Must say I’m sort of surprised we don’t have a Merlefest in April and a Docfest in the middle of September right before the IBMA when everyone is in the area. Am glad they took my suggestion to keep the Hillside stage open later and have sunset jams to sort of thin the herd at that time as the other stages close down. Think I first suggested that about the time Dolly Parton played the Watson Stage.
