First time we will be attending. We are camping north of Wilksboro.

Would someone please educate me on the parking situation? Maybe I just can’t find what I’m looking for on the website.

    Thank you,

    Bob from Grand Rapids, Michigan

MerleFest webmaster here – parking is free and plentiful! You will see signs when you arrive that say Festival Parking. Follow the signs. A volunteer will help you find a parking space. They will also point you to a shuttle stop where you can ride directly to the front entrance gates. Don’t forget to note the lot you parked in. When you are ready to return to your vehicle, you will need to get in the correct shuttle bus exit line. Handicapped parking is available at shuttle stop ‘H’. Hope this helps!

In addition to the free parking shuttle bus there are several pay lots along South Collegiate Drive. 20 or 25 a day and not a bad walk to the front gate. A bit less of a hassle to get out, where the lines for the buses sometimes gets long. I’ve done both over 20 years or so. Sometimes, the convenience is worth it; sometimes you want to spend the $$ on merch.
