Late Night Jam

For more than 30 years, the Late Night Jam (formerly known as the Midnight Jam) has been one of MerleFest’s most beloved traditions. What began as an informal after-hours gathering led by festival founder Doc Watson, his family, and musical friends has grown into one of the festival’s most anticipated events.
The Jam brings together elite pickers, rising talent, and surprise guests for spontaneous and incredibly unique collaborations.

Held at The Walker Center on the campus of Wilkes Community College, the Late Night Jam begins at 11:00 PM on Saturday and continues into the early hours of Sunday morning. Late Night jam tickets are sold separately.

Transportation Note: Bus transportation is available after the Jam for guests returning to site parking areas and local camping locations.

2026 Late Night Jam Host

Old Crow Medicine Show will host the 2026 Late Night Jam. Doc Watson played a role in discovering this band years ago, and the flame Doc inspired in them still burns bright to this day.
